Great views and lovely small subalpine lakes will greet us in this moderate hike in Cypress Provincial Park. After a fairly steep uphill section of this trail, we’ll come out to a subalpine open area and reach Cabin Lake and soon Black Mountain summit. We go by a few more little lakes before descending into the woods and to Eagle Bluff with spectacular views of the Lower Mainland as well as Horseshoe Bay and Bowen Island. On a clear day, one can see Mount Baker and the Sunshine Coast. Roundtrip distance is 8 km (5 mi) with an elevation gain of 310 m (1015 ft). Meet at 9:00 am. Return 5:00 pm.
